Late life:
As a "senior" adult himself and as a scholar who has contributed to the literature on end-of-life issues, Dr. Marwit is sensitive to the issues of later life. His work with older adults is focused on helping them navigate this stage of life with pride, grace, and acceptance and an appreciation for what they have accomplished and contributed. He helps them understand the opportunities afforded by the freedom of being older. In his work, he helps older adults cope with the common fears of aging and mortality, concerns about changing relationships and changing life styles, isolation, geographic relocation and downsizing, sexuality, care-providing and care-receiving, and the inevitable losses that accompany aging. As Americans live longer and healthier lives, the need for an age-peer counselor who appreciate the issues of this life stage increases. Dr. Marwit is a Medicare B provider.
